After coming from Tacos El Gordo, we went here to desserts and drinks! We got the pizookie trio. My friends had cookies and cream and I got white chocolate macadamia all topped with vanilla ice cream. The aroma of the cookie smelled so good and how it just melts in your mouth all of them! So delicious. As for drinks I got this drink called the, "Alabama Sunset" it was sweet but not to sweet a perfect pair for dessert. They have good food here as well. Their pizza is good here and they have beignets. Come here for lunch or dinner, happy hour, birthdays, anniversaries or even just for a pizookie!

Came here with my two friends that I've known for awhile now. We ate here the day before I got my wisdom teeth pulled out which was last Tues! This is my second time here and I always love coming here. Their carne asada tastes so damn good. It tastes different from other carne asada that I ate but this on tastes like the one I ate when I went to TJ. The adobada, I'm not really a fan of. It's okay but it tastes too sweet to me. I want to try the lengua, tripa and cabeza. I heard this location is the only one that serves fries! Adobada Fries, Adobada tacos and carne asada tacos!
here's another adventure with Kristine & I. We came from the San Diego Cake Show from Del Mar and got hungry, sow why not we go to Convoy and get some kbbq? Taeguki is now our go to place for kbbq.
Parking is no problem. Spacious. Great customer service! The servers are always coming by asking how is everything, they are prompt with changing your grill, bringing more water or asking if you want to order meat. We got the premium. They give you a sample of brisket. To us the brisket tasted dry when cooked. Got short ribs, pork belly, bulgogi, bbq chicken, Kristine & I stopped by here to grab brunch before heading to the San Diego Cake Show in Del Mar.
I heard about this place but never really paid attention to it. This Swami's is located at the beautiful downtown La Mesa. Parking is street parking and you pay on the meter. It's surrounded by other places to eat and to shop. Got here around brunch time on a Sunday. It's super busy. Line was long to go and order but didn't take long. I suggest you check the menu and start thinking on what you want so you're ready. They have different variety of choices from pancakes, waffles, french toast to omelettes, breakfast burritos, sandwiches, salads, seafood, veggie and etc. Different choices of juices, smoothies, coffee, ice or blended. Like I said it gets busy so you have to keep an eye out on seating areas because you seat yourself. Once you're seated they serve you your food. I got the stuffed french toast with strawberries and cream cheese and a aide of french fries. I do love my french fries! My bestfriend got the black bean egg breakfast burrito with that came with diced potatoes. My french toast tasted really good. It may not look a lot on the plate but it gets you real full quick. Oh and I got a kona mocha blended coffee (not picture) it was okay. Tasted any regular mocha drink. But this place felt homey. I love brunch places like these. It's decor defines it's own way notbing you can find anywhere. Went to UTC Mall at La Jolla. My second time there. One of my best friends & I went exploring around that area and I said I wanted to try their macarons. Note, I've never bought store bought macarons before since I know how to make them. I wanted to give it a try because they had flavors that I never tried/made before. Here's some pictures of them! Colombian Coffee . Rose Pistachio & Construction from being upstairs where Nordstrom is. Lol.
After being at La Jolla to North Park we ended back here in La Mesa. I haven't had a drink in so long. Meaning I haven't had Stella Sundays (my made up holiday every Sundays). Oh and this is my go to place to chill, BONUS it's near my house. Gotta love the new places you come across too. Obviously came here on a Monday and this was their special for the night. Beer Flights & Flatbread! Beer! I'm not really a beer person but I like to keep my options open with alcohol and taste. It' just that majority beer to me tastes strong and wheaty- I don't know how to explain it but I did like Dos Equis and Stella Artois oh oh I love Tecate too but we didn't have that here in this pic. But in this pic there Dos Equis, Stella Artois, BNS and Firestone. Beer flights & Flat bread, Chipotle Chicken flat bread. If you know me I love spicy food. This was spicy but I couldn't handle it. I'm also fighting this pain from my wisdom tooth, I'm trying to enjoy all this food and drinks before I get all my wisdom teeth pulled out next week and have to be on a liquid diet :(
Every Monday or whatever day that both my travel buddy and I are off from work we go out for a girls day/night out to try new places to eat or we end up going to our favorite pub near my places lol. Since we were in La Jolla, we tried this place Tender Greens. To me it's kind of like a Panera but more healthier selections. The servers, cashiers all staff here are super nice. Again, Kristine & I were standing in front of the restaurant checking the menu out. They have a stand with their menus and showing the specials for the day. A gentleman that works there came up to us to help us out and gave us some suggestions on their specials. Walk inside, go to the counter and you tell them what you want to order. Walk to the other side and that's where you pay and order your drinks. But once you start walking across you will see some other stuff that is freshly made (I didn't get to picture them.) As you pay they give you a tray with your drinks and they bring your food to them. This place has good customer service. They're always checking up on you, asking how the food is and asking if there is anything else that we needed. Every 10 minutes they're always asking if you're doing okay. So 5 stars for you guys at La Jolla Tender Greens! I got the BBQ Chipotle Chicken Sandwich on a Ciabatta bread and simple Arugula Salad and part of my drink up there is the Agua Fresca. (has free refills) Kristine got the rustic tomato soup with basil oil - (i tried this and this tastes super good! ) Kristine got the special snow-pea fettuccine (I'm not too sure if that what it was called) with salad and her crouton for her soup
North Park at night We had a hard time finding this place. Our GPS didn't really locate the store. Kristine had to drive around and we eventually found it. Parking though is a problem. You have to park on the street and it gets busy at night. Cool thing we found parking after circling around a bit right in front of this place. But this place is connected with a restaurant. It's nice. The cashier knew it was our first time and gave us a brief explanation what they serve because I was looking through yelp for references on what to order. Technically, they can make any cereal you can think of into a milkshake. I mean ANY CEREAL YOU CAN THINK OF. Cereals that they don't even sell on shelves too. He showed us Oreo O's and they can make that into a milkshake. If you want something quick sweet treat come here. They sell gigantic cookies as well. They have their version of sweet cereal bars but they only make small batches and they sell out quick. I suggest coming here during the day time! Kristine bought milk! Chocolate Banana and Nutella. I must say the Nutella tastes really great! The menu that is posted on their window! For all you lactose you can get a drink too! Other flavors of milk, they have milk infused flavored cereal. I don't know if that's the correct term for it but they have it! Trix, Honeycomb, etc etc. Also they sell stout beers and root beer! Shown here on the picture. Clocks on the ceiling as their decorations Kristine posing near the sign. She was posing discreetly when I took this picture. Funny thing there was a couple there that kept moving in front of it. I had to take a quick a snap of it before they covered it lol. Our purchases! I had the lucky charms chocolate milkshake, Kristine got rocky road milkshake which was the flavor of the day and milks. Nutella, Chocolate Banana and Honey Nut Cheerio!
Went to Porto's last Thursday at the Burbank location. This is the second Porto's location that I've been too. The one I normally go to is at Glendale, CA. Been there more than 3 times but this Burbank location is beautiful. In my opinion it feels bigger to me and has more space. Of course it was busy, it's always busy at Porto's! They're just that popular they have I think 3 bakeries opened within the area. The parking is great, no street parking like the one in Glendale but you just have a walk to do but it's not that too bad. Once you get inside the bakery, oh my gosh I kid you not it felt like a mall in there. You can either dine in or get in line and pick out the pastries you want. If you've never been to any Portos you must get their cheese rolls. It's so good. I know any other bakery has their own version of cheese rolls. Me being Filipino, I love Portos cheese rolls better. It's made out of puff pastry with cream cheese filling and dusted with sugar. The thing I love about this pastry that the taste of the puff pastry compliments the cream cheese. It's not too much cream cheese it's just perfect. They also have other stuff like french macarons, cupcakes, cookies, other pastries like a guava pastry, pineapple turnover, apple turnover, creme brulee, tarts, fruit and meat empanadas, cakes, cheesecakes, iced/hot coffee drinks, and also you can dine in and eat. Here's a picture of variety of desserts/pastries that they have on display. Who would turn down all these delicious sweets?
